1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 7540 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 1. 15, ELECTIONS, BY ADDING NEW SECTION <br />1.15.050 ESTABLISHING NO CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION LIMITS <br />FOR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES. <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as follows: <br />Section 1: Section 1. 15.050 is hereby added to the Riverside Municipal Code as follows: <br />"1.15.050 Campaign Contribution Limits. <br />A. On October 8, 2019, the Governor signed Assembly Bill 571, setting <br />campaign limits for elective city offices commensurate with State limits. <br />Assembly Bill 571 also authorized a city to set its own campaign contribution <br />limits different than the State limits. <br />B. The City Council hereby imposes no limit on the campaign contributions that <br />a Mayoral or City Council candidate can receive per election." <br />Section 2: The City Council has reviewed the matter and, based upon the facts and <br />information contained in the staff reports, administrative record, and written and oral testimony, <br />hereby finds that this ordinance is not subject to CEQA pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2), <br />15060(c)(3) and/or 15061(b)(3) of the State CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title <br />14, Chapter 3, in that it will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change <br />in the environment nor have a significant impact on the environment. <br />Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause <br />publication once in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 414 of the Charter <br />of the City of Riverside.
