1 ORDINANCE NO. 6035 <br />2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br /> AMENDING SECTION 2.28.050 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL <br />3 CODE TO PROVIDE FOR ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGES FOR <br /> SPECIAL SECURITY ASSIGNMENTS FOR POLICE OFFICERS AND <br />4 FIREFIGHTERS AT SPECIAL EVENTS. <br />5 WHEREAS Section 2.28.010 of the Riverside Municipal Code <br />6 provides that in any instance where a special event or <br />7 occurrence may attract a large number of people, or which, for <br />8 other reasons, may be or become a hazard to the public peace, <br />9 health, safety or general welfare unless attended by or <br />10 supervised by the Chief of Police or the Fire Chief or personnel <br />11 under their respective commands, or in any instance where a <br />12 person desires special public safety services over and above the <br />13 normal services provided by the Police Department or the Fire <br />14 Department of the City of Riverside, such services if approved <br />15 or required by the Chief of Police or Fire Chief, as the case <br />16 may be, may be provided at the expense of the applicant or <br />17 person in charge of such event; and <br />18 WHEREAS Section 2.28.050 of the Riverside Municipal Code <br />19 sets forth the rate of pay and other charges for each such <br />20 police officer or firefighter so provided; and <br />21 WHEREAS the City of Riverside has conducted an extensive <br />22 and exhaustive analysis of the services, the costs reasonably <br />23 borne for providing these services, the beneficiaries of those <br />24 services, and the revenues produced by those paying fees and <br />25 charges for special services including those provided pursuant <br />26 to Chapter 2.28 of the Riverside Municipal Code; and <br />27 WHEREAS the study indicated that those persons desiring <br />ATTORNEY <br />DE <br />CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> <br />
