No Council Action.

From:
To:
Date:
Subject:

Ben Brown <bbrown@esri.com>
<council@ci.riverside.ca.us>
8118103 8:31:00 AM
March JPA and Lenna

Dear Riverside Council,

I am a registered voter and taxpayer and I live in the vicinity of the
"Greater Los Angeles March GlobalPort." I am opposed to the building of any
warehouses at March Business Center. This is simply not in the best interest
of the residents you are representing, and supporting such development,
contrary to community desires, would appear to represent a failure in your
fiduciary responsibility and a conflict of interest on your part.

I want to live in a community of homes, schools, parks (we need a few more
now not 10 years from now, ) and churches. I do not want an Industrial Park
with trucks, pollution and massive warehouses in my neighborhood. The
Riverside area already has the worst air quality around, we do not need to
exacerbate this situation.

It is in the best interest of the JPA, and the community, to develop
high-end businesses and executive offices like the city of Temecula has. Why
are we not going in this direction and why has the JPA and the developer
changed its plan? Temecula seems to be going in the right direction, why are
we not patterning our development based on their plan? Residents want the
type of businesses that provide higher paying jobs for local residents to
get us off the freeways. With the land prices cheaper than most California
locations, this provides us with an excellent opportunity to bring higher
paying jobs and even create a "Silicon Valley South?" and end the commute of
so many area residents. We need development like the Promenade area of
Temecula, not the Warehouse row of Ontario. The area is just not suited for
this, and this would have long-term environmental and health impacts on the
residents especially the children, not to mention our beloved endangered
kangaroo rats.

The residents of nearing communities do not want acres of warehouses that
will draw thousands of diesel spewing trucks that will decrease our property
values, clog our already congested roads, and add tons of pollution to our
neighborhoods. This area cannot handle the current traffic overflow, and
definitely cannot handle a significant increase contrary to what the reports
say. Anyone traveling up or down Van Buren or AIlessandro at rush hour can
attest to this. We have already seen too many friends, neighbors, and
family members killed on the Van Buren expressway, we do not need this now
to be filled with big rig trucks further increasing the fatalities.

I am opposed to a commercial airport at March. I want to keep March for
military use only.
Don't let this happen on your shift.
