CITY OF RIVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL COUNCILMEMBERS Minutes of: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Date of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council 3 p.m. Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall October 28, 2003 WARDS Roll Call: WORKSHOP HOUSING PROJECT COMMITMENTS AND PRIORITIES Following discussion, the City Council (1) received and ordered filed the report relative to current housing project commitments and future housing priorities; and (2) approved the current priorities and requested staff to return with a comprehensive targeting and ranking proposal for City Council approval. RECESS The City Council recessed at 4:30 p.m. and reconvened at 6:15 p.m. REPORT FROM PLANNING COMMISSION Chair David M. Leonard reported on the activities of the Planning Commission. Following discussion, the City Council thanked Mr. Leonard for his report. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA FIRES Fire Chief Carlson reported on the fires in Southern California. City Manager Caravalho reported on City employees who have been evacuated and who have lost their homes. The Invocation was given by Councilmember Schiavone. The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. PRESENTATION The presentation of a Proclamation to Housing Project Coordinator Erin Comstock declaring the week of October 19 through 25, 2003, as Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, was not held. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE Paul Piscatella spoke regarding the Downtown Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC). Michael Morales spoke regarding Charter Communications. Les Joslyn and Marjorie von Pohle spoke regarding Measure G. Yolanda Garland and James Martin spoke regarding the Rancho La Sierra Specific Plan Citizens Advisory Committee.
