IN RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL NO. 2013 FOR THE <br />FOCUSED WATER SYSTEM MASTER PLAN IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO <br />EXCEED $120,998 <br />ISSUES: <br />Approve a Supplemental Agreement in response to Reques <br />Focused Water System Master Plan with Kennedy/Jenks <br />California, in an amount not to exceed $120,998. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />t for Proposal No. 2013 for the <br />Consultants, Inc. of Pasadena, <br />Approve a Supplemental Agreement for the Focused Water System Master Plan with <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. of Pasadena, California in response to Request for <br />Proposal No. 2013 in an amount not to exceed $120,998; and <br />2. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute a Supplemental Agreement with <br />Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, Inc. including making minor and non -substantive changes <br />and to sign all documents and instruments necessary to complete the transactions. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Riverside Public Utilities Department (RPU) delivers potable water to nearly 66,000 <br />service connections, providing water to over 310,000 people within the City's service area. RPU's <br />water distribution system consists of 923 miles of pipeline, 16 storage reservoirs, 40 booster <br />stations, and 38 pressure reducing stations across 44 pressure zones. RPU continually evaluates <br />and manages its water distribution system infrastructure to ensure that its capable of supplying <br />enough water to meet summer demands for both the short-term and long-term planning horizons. <br />RPU evaluates the water system about every five (5) years by completing Water Master Plan <br />Studies which identify areas of deficiencies within RPU's water system and provides a prioritized <br />list of recommended capital improvement projects (CIP) to be considered for addressing these <br />deficiencies. RPU completed a master plan update in 2013 under the Integrated Water <br />
