Bomt, Executive Director <br /> <br /> JUL 0 7 2003 <br />OFI::~CE OF THE Dill' CLF_-BK <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Submitting Resolutions and Policy Amendments to the National Municipal <br /> Policy <br /> <br />You are invited to submit resolutions and policy amendments to the 2003 National <br />Municipal Policy by Friday, August 8, 2003, for consideration for adoption by NLC's <br />membership. <br /> <br />Updated annually at NLC's Business Meeting in December, the National Municipal <br />Policy (NMP), is the policy statement of the National League of Cities. The entire <br />NMP, divided by subject matter chapters, can be found at www.nlc.org by clicking on <br />the advocacy section of the home page. As part of NLC's annual policy process, we <br />encourage our members to review this document to determine if resolutions or policy <br />amendments are necessary. If you are interested in submitting a resolution or <br />amendment, please follow the guidelines provided on the back of this memo. All <br />proposals submitted by the deadline will be submitted to the appropriate steering <br />committee for review and will continue through the NLC policy process. <br /> <br />Policy amendment proposals and resolutions must be submitted in writing. Please send <br />them to the attention of Katherine Bates via email (bates~nlc.org), fax (202-626-3043) <br />or by mail to the National League of Cities, 1301 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Suite <br />550, Washington D.C. 20004. <br /> <br />Members are encouraged to submit their proposals by August 8 to allow for a thorough <br />review of their issues.
