Cuevas due to vacation and John <br />Brown due to business. <br />Staff: M. Kopaskie-Brown, S. Wilson, P. Brenes, S. Watson, F. Andrade <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the flag. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />Mike Gentile, Old Riverside <br />Foundation, spoke regarding P19-0487, item <br />2 on today's agenda. Staff is requesting a continuance but his briefed the <br />Board on his discussions with Code Enforcement and Planning staff. He <br />asked what the penalty for this illegal demolition, in a historic district, would <br />be. This is an opportunity for the Cultural Heritage Board to make an <br />example of this situation. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />PLANNING CASE P19-0487 <br />— CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br />- 4674 Beacon Way, Ward 1 — CONTINUANCE TO OCTOBER 16, 2019 <br />Scott Watson, Historic Preservation Officer, stated staff was requesting a <br />continuance to this item to allow staff additional time to research the <br />unpermitted demolition. <br />The board members expressed their concern with only addressing the <br />continuance of this item today. Board Member Tobin inquired about <br />scheduling a special meeting in two weeks time, as several members felt <br />30 -days was too long. Board Member Parrish indicated she would not be <br />available for the special meeting in two weeks and she would like to be <br />able to participate with regard to this item. <br />Susan Wilson, Assistant City Attorney, indicated that a special meeting <br />can be scheduled at any time with appropriate amount of notice. She <br />deferred to staff as to the time needed to complete their research. <br />Mary Kopaskie-Brown, City Planner, stated that this was not a one <br />department issue. Planning staff is working closely with: Code <br />Enforcement, Building & Safety, City Attorney's office as well as the City <br />Manager's Office.
