Award the winners with their prizes. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The annual bottled water label art contest is held in conjunction with the "Splash Into Cash" program. The <br />Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) sponsored high school art contest is open to all public and private high <br />school students in the City of Riverside (City). Students design the label for RPU bottled water that is <br />distributed by the City through sponsorships throughout the year. To date, the Utility has expended more <br />than $370,000 in program costs and has given out almost 600,000 bottles of water to City schools. <br />Each contest winner receives $250 cash, copies of their winning label, and two cases of water featuring <br />their label. Winners also receive a certificate, copies of which are attached to this report. Art teachers <br />receive a $50 gift certificate from an art supply store for each winning entry. <br />
