RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Adm <br /> Board Memorandum <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIESDATE: NOVEMBER 13, 2017 <br />ITEM NO: 2 <br />SUBJECT:EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION AWARD TO ENERGY DELIVERY FIELD FORCES THAT <br />PROVIDED MUTUAL AID TO CITY OF COLTON PUBLIC UTILITIES AND IMPERIAL <br />IRRIGATION DISTRICT <br />ISSUE: <br />Recognition of the Energy Delivery field forces that provided mutual aid assistance to City of Colton <br />Public Utilities and Imperial Irrigation District following extreme weather events. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities recognize the following employees for their excellent work assisting with <br />repair of critical infrastructure at other utilities: <br />From Electric Field for assisting Imperial Irrigation District: <br />Brian Bozarth, Electric Crew Supervisor <br />Darin Hefner, Electric Crew Supervisor <br />James Judnick, Powerline Technician <br />Dennis McDonnell, Powerline Technician <br />Dexter Cole, Powerline Technician <br />Matthew Richardson, Apprentice Powerline Technician <br />From Electric Operations for assisting City of Colton: <br />Ken Coffey, Electric Substation Supervisor <br />Dave Angelo, Substation Electrician <br />Richard Melton, Substation Electrician <br />Tyler Trippany, Substation Electrician <br />Bobby Thompson, Apprentice Substation Electrician <br />Tom Fichtel, Apprentice Substation Electrician <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Through our membership in Southern California PublicPower Authority (SCPPA) and our involvement <br />with the California Utilities Emergency Association (CUEA), Riverside Public Utilities can receive and <br />respond to requests for mutual aid during and after emergency events such as storms or wildfires. We <br />have responded with personnel and equipment twice in recent months. Once was to the City of Colton <br />after a severe thunderstorm caused a system-wide outage and damaged critical infrastructure. Our <br />Page 15 <br />
