Pole loading analysis isalso
required when new development driven projects impact existing overhead facilities. The California Public
UtilitiesCommissionrequires utility poles to meet the minimum overhead construction standards, strength,
and safety factors per General Order 95 (GO 95). RPU has chosen to comply with GO 95to follow prudent
utility practice. RPU is an active member of the Southern California Joint Pole Committee, and all members
are required to share the pole loading information with other joint pole owners to determine and establish
requirements for new pole attachments or line rebuilds that would impact the pole strength and safety
factor.
Page 26
