AM-004-912 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6280 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY 3 ADDING SECTIONS 19.04.177, 19.04.472 AND 19.68.080; AND AMENDING SECTIONS 19.07.030, 19.08.020, 4 19.10.020, 19.12.020, 19.16.020 AND 19.18.030 TO PERMIT AND REGULATE CERTAIN HOME OCCUPATIONS AND 5 TELECOMMUTING IN RESIDENTIAL ZONES, EXCEPT THE RA-5 AND RC ZONES. 6 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 7 does ordain as follows: 8 Section 1: Chapter 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal Code 9 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 19.04.177 to 10 read as follows: 11 "19.04.177 HOME OCCUPATION. 'Home Occupation' 12 means any use of a dwelling unit and related property for employment or occupational purposes which is incidental 13 to the residential use of the dwelling unit and which conforms to the guidelines set forth in Section 14 19.68.080." 15 Section 2: Chapter 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal Code 16 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new Section 19.04.472 to 17 read as follows: 18 "19.04.472 TELECOMMUTING. 'Telecommuting' means 19 the act of an individual conducting any business activity from the individual's usual place of residence via 20 computer, modem, facsimile machine and/or similar means of communication in the capacity of an employee where the 21 employer's business is regularly conducted from a location other than the individual's place of residence°" 22 23 Section 3: Section 19.07.030 of the Riverside Municipal 24 Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a new subsection (15) to 25 read as follows: 26 "(15) Home occupations and telecommuting as defined by Sections 19.04.177 and 19.04.472 of this Title in 27 accordance with the provisions contained in Section Attorney's Office Street CA 92522 782-5567 F: ~WPDATA~ORD\ 94243501.
