AM-004-956 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6274 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY 3 ADDING THERETO A NEW DEFINITION AT SECTION 19.04.409 FOR "PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT VENUE"; AMENDING SECTION 4 19.76.020 (2) D. TO EXTEND READERBOARD SIGN RIGHTS TO PUBLIC USES WHICH REGULARLY HOST EVENTS OF 5 GENERAL PUBLIC INTEREST, TO INCREASE SIZE AND HEIGHT LIMITS FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE READERBOARD SIGNS AND 6 REORGANIZING EXISTING SIGN CODE PROVISIONS THEREBY DELETING 19.76.020 (2) T. 7 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 8 does ordain as follows: 9 Section 1: Chapter 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal Code 10 is hereby amended by adding thereto a new definition of "Public 11 Entertainment Venue" at section 19.04.409 to read as follows: 12 "19.04.409 PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT VENUE. "Public 13 entertainment venue" means a publicly owned or operated facility which regularly hosts entertainment events open 14 to the general public." 15 Section 2: Section 19.76.020 (2) D. of the Riverside 16 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 17 "D. READERBOARD SIGNS. Readerboard signs are allowed only for the following uses as specified below: 18 1. Service Stations: See Section 19 19.76.020(2) (A) . 20 2. Theaters: Theaters offering live performances or motion pictures and having 21 permanent seating for at least 100 persons may, in lieu of an identification building 22 sign, display one theater entertainment sign per public frontage, maximum one and 23 one half square feet of sign for each front~ foot of building frontage, not to exceed 24 100 square feet of signage per frontage. 25 3.
