AM-006-956 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6273 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING 3 THERETO A NEW TITLE 7 ENTITLED NOISE CONTROL AND AMENDING SECTION 1.01.115 TO PROVIDE FOR ENFORCEMENT 4 OF THAT NEW TITLE 7. 5 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 6 does ordain as follows: 7 Section 1: The Riverside Municipal Code is hereby 8 amended by adding thereto a new Title 7 to read as follows: 9 "Title 7 10 NOISE CONTROL 11 Chapters: 12 7 05 Declaration of Policy and Intent 7 10 Definitions 13 7 15 Administration and Enforcement 7 20 Sound Level Measurement 14 7 25 Exterior Sound Level Limits 7 30 Interior Sound Level Limits 15 7 35 General Noise Regulations 7 40 Variance Procedure 16 Chapter 7.05 17 POLICY AND INTENT 18 Sections: 19 7.05.010 Policy and Intent 20 7.05.010 POLICY AND INTENT. It is determined that certain noise levels are detrimental to the public health, safety 21 and welfare and are contrary to the public interest. Therefore, the Riverside City Council declares that creating, maintaining, 22 causing or allowing to create, maintain or cause any noise in a manner not in conformity with the provisions of this chapter, is 23 a public nuisance and shall be punishable as such. 24 In order to control unnecessary, excessive and/or annoying noise in the City of Riverside, it is declared to be the 25 policy of the City to prohibit such noise generated by the sources specified in this chapter.
