RESOLUTION NO. 23413 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br />CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING <br />NOTICE OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD JUNE 4, <br />2019, TO BE CONDUCTED WHOLLY BY MAIL -IN BALLOT IN THE <br />CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MEMBER <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM THE FIRST, THIRD, FIFTH AND <br />SEVENTH WARDS OF SAID CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR FIVE-YEAR <br />TERMS. <br />The City Council of the City of Riverside does hereby resolve as follows: <br />Section 1: That in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Riverside <br />and the Constitution and election laws of the State of California, a General Municipal Election be <br />held and the same is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of Riverside on June 4, <br />2019, for the purpose of electing four members of the City Council of the City of Riverside for <br />five-year terms. The members of the City Council shall be from the odd -numbered wards of the <br />City of Riverside as established by the City Council. <br />Section 2: That no polling places will be secured as said election is to be conducted <br />wholly by mail -in ballot. Official ballots will be mailed together with the sample ballot <br />pamphlet and a postage prepaid envelope for return of the official ballot. Voted ballots must be <br />returned to the Registrar of Voters Office or to one of the drop-off locations, at least one of <br />which shall be located in Ward One, Ward Three, Ward Five and Ward Seven. Voted ballots <br />must be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2019, or be postmarked on or before <br />election day and received no later than three (3) days after the election day to be counted. <br />Section 3: That the purpose of holding said General Municipal Election there shall be <br />and hereby are established consolidated voting precincts consisting of a consolidation of the <br />regular precincts in the City of Riverside established for the holding of state and county elections <br />as said regular election precincts exist on the date of this resolution. <br />Section 4: That the form and contents of the ballots to be used at said election shall be as <br />provided by law. <br />Section 5: That in accordance with Section 10002 of the Elections Code, the Board of <br />Supervisors of Riverside County are hereby requested to consent to the Riverside County <br />CITY ATTORNEYS OFFICE <br />3900 MAIN STkEET <br />RIVERSIDE, CA 92522 <br />((951) 826-5567 <br />
