RESOLUTION NO. 23413 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING, CALLING, PROVIDING FOR AND GIVING NOTICE OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD JUNE 4, 2019, TO BE CONDUCTED WHOLLY BY MAIL -IN BALLOT IN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MEMBER OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM THE FIRST, THIRD, FIFTH AND SEVENTH WARDS OF SAID CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR FIVE-YEAR TERMS. The City Council of the City of Riverside does hereby resolve as follows: Section 1: That in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of Riverside and the Constitution and election laws of the State of California, a General Municipal Election be held and the same is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of Riverside on June 4, 2019, for the purpose of electing four members of the City Council of the City of Riverside for five-year terms. The members of the City Council shall be from the odd -numbered wards of the City of Riverside as established by the City Council. Section 2: That no polling places will be secured as said election is to be conducted wholly by mail -in ballot. Official ballots will be mailed together with the sample ballot pamphlet and a postage prepaid envelope for return of the official ballot. Voted ballots must be returned to the Registrar of Voters Office or to one of the drop-off locations, at least one of which shall be located in Ward One, Ward Three, Ward Five and Ward Seven. Voted ballots must be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 4, 2019, or be postmarked on or before election day and received no later than three (3) days after the election day to be counted. Section 3: That the purpose of holding said General Municipal Election there shall be and hereby are established consolidated voting precincts consisting of a consolidation of the regular precincts in the City of Riverside established for the holding of state and county elections as said regular election precincts exist on the date of this resolution. Section 4: That the form and contents of the ballots to be used at said election shall be as provided by law.
