AM-005-956 1 ORDINANCE NO. 626] 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY 3 ADDING A NEW DEFINITION THERETO AT SECTION 19.04.087; BY AMENDING SECTION 19.68.030 AND 4 AMENDING SECTION 19.68.040 BY ADDING A NEW SUBSECTION (d) THERETO TO MODIFY AND EXPAND 5 PROCEDURES AND DEVELOP LOCATION STANDARDS FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS FACILITIES. 6 7 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 8 does ordain as follows: 9 Section 1: Section 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal Code 10 is hereby amended to add a new definition at Section 19.04.487 to 11 read as follows: 12 "19.04.487. WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS. A broad range of telecommunications services that 13 enable people and devices to communicate independent of location. This includes the 14 current technologies of cellular communications and Personal Communications Services. This 15 excludes non-commercial antennas, radio and television signals, and non-commercial satellite 16 dishes. Also see section 19.68.040 of the "General Use" section for detailed standards." 17 18 Section 2: Section 19.68.030 of the Riverside Municipal 19 Code in hereby amended to read as follows: 20 "19.68o030 BUILDING HEIGHTS GENERALLY. All buildings hereafter erected and existing 21 buildings which may be reconstructed, altered, moved or maintained or enlarged shall comply with 22 the height regulations of the zone in which they may be located. Roof structures for the housing 23 of elevators, stairways, tanks, ventilating fans or similar equipment required to operate and 24 maintain the building and fire or parapet walls, skylights~ church spires~ flagpoles~ chimneys, 25 smokestacks~ wireless masts or similar structures, but excluding wireless communications 26 equipment, may be erected above the height limits prescribed in this title; provided, that the same 27 may be safety erected and maintained at such Attorney's Office Street CA 92522 782-5567 F: \WPDATA\ORD\ 95203701.
