W A I R h N h B L Y I. l F F PUBLIC UTILITIES BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum DATE: JULY 10, 2017 ITEM NO: 7 SUBJECT: UTILITY AGREEMENT NO. 17-1001605 BETWEEN CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR REDLANDS PASSENGER RAIL PROJECT DESIGN REVIEWS AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION RELATED TO THE GAGE CANAL FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF PROJECT DESIGN REVIEWS AND CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION RELATED TO UTILITY CONFLICT MITIGATION AT THE GAGE CANAL - SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION OF $150,000 TO FUND THE PROJECT AND INCREASE IN ESTIMATED REVENUE OF $150,000 FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT — APPROVE WORK ORDER NO. 1732059 FOR $150,000 ISSUE: Recommend that City Council approve the Utility Agreement No. 17-1001605 between San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and City of Riverside for Redlands Passenger Rail Project Design Reviews and Construction Inspection Related to the Gage Canal for reimbursement of project design reviews and construction inspection related to utility conflict mitigation at the Gage Canal facility within the project area of San Bernardino County Transit Authority's Redlands Passenger Rail Project; appropriate $150,000 to fund the project and increase estimated revenue for the same amount to reflect the reimbursement; and approve the expenditure of $150,000 for Work Order No. 1732059. RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of Public Utilities: 1. Approve the capital expenditure of $150,000 for Work Order No. 1732059 for the City of Riverside's design reviews and construction inspection costs for San Bernardino County Transportation Authority's Redlands Passenger Rail Project; 2. Recommend that City Council approve the Utility Agreement No. 17-1001605 between San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and City of Riverside for Redlands Passenger Rail Project Design Reviews and Construction Inspection Related to the Gage Canal for reimbursement of project design reviews and construction inspection related to utility conflict mitigation at the Gage Canal facility within the project area of San Bernardino County Transit Authority's Redlands Passenger Rail Project, reimbursement amount of $150,00; 3. Recommend that City Council authorize a supplemental appropriation in the amount of $150,000 from the Water Fund Balance to fund the project; 4. Recommend that City Council authorize an increase in estimated revenues in the amount of $150,000 and appropriate expenditures in the same amount in a project account to be established by Finance for the Redlands Passenger Rail Project; and
