CLOSED SESSIONS The Mayor and City Council recessed to the City Council Board Room for closed sessions pursuant to Government Code §54956.9 to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning (1) Neka and John McDonald v. City of Riverside; and (2) Niomi Johnson v. City of Riverside, WCAB Case No. 02-00-67. Councilmember Adkison disqualified himself from participating in the following closed session and left the City Council Board Room as his firm (Adkan Engineers) is doing business with John A. Russo or has done so in the last twelve months. A closed session was held pursuant to Government Code §54956.8 to instruct the City's Negotiators, Robert C. Wales and Michael J. Beck, regarding price and terms of payment for the purchase, sale, exchange, or lease of 1441 Massachusetts Avenue; 2830, 2800, 2770, 2730, 2720, and 2680Topaz Drive; 1421 Massachusetts Avenue, and 2831, 2801, and 2771 Turquoise Street; by lan Y. Nguyen; Blanca Espinoza and Felipe Garcia; William B. Hawkins; Delbert L. Schroeder; Peter Gregory Morris, et al.; John A. Russo; Ernest M. Ulfig; lan Y. Nguyen; Edwin G. and Maria C. Cube; Gustavo and Cirilo Perez; and David H. and Pamela A. Flesner, Negotiators, respectively. The City Attorney announced there was no reportable action on the closed sessions. The Mayor and City Council returned to the Art Pick Council Chamber with all Councilmembers present. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND PLANNING REFERRALS AND APPEALS CASE VR-109-023 - APPEAL - 1244 ORANGE - CONTINUED At the request of the Planning Director the City Council continued to 3 p.m. on April 8, 2003, discussion relative to the appeal of Administrative Variance Case VR-109-023 by Chae O. Park from the decision of the Zoning Administrator in denying his proposal for variances related to a garage conversion and building addition on an approximately 10,600-square-foot parcel developed with a single-family residence at 1244 Orange Street, situated southeasterly of the intersection of Orange Street and Columbia Avenue, in Zone R-1-65.
