CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br />Date of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />11:30 a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br />March 18, 2003 <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge convened the City Council at 11:40 a.m. in the Mayor's <br />Ceremonial Room for a luncheon meeting. <br /> <br />ORGANIZATIONAL REVIEW OF MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, AND CITY <br />MANAGER OFFICES <br />Following discussion relative to the organizational review of the Mayor, City <br />Council, and City Manager Offices, the City Council, without formal motion, <br />unanimously referred the recommendations to an Ad Hoc Committee <br />comprised of Mayor Loveridge, and Councilmembers Adkison, Defenbaugh, <br />and Schiavone. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There were no comments presented at this time. <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />The Mayor and City Council recessed for a closed session pursuant to <br />Government Code §54956.9 to confer with and/or receive advice from legal <br />counsel concerning Jay Theuer, et al., v. City of Riverside - United States <br />District Court Case No. ED CV00-4495. The City Attorney announced there <br />was no reportable action on the closed session. <br /> <br />RECESS <br />The City Council recessed at 1:35 p.m. and reconvened at 3 p.m. in the Art <br />Pick Council Chamber. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS AND PLANNING REFERRALS AND APPEALS <br /> <br />ZONING CASE VR-109~023 - APPEAL - 1244 ORANGE - CONTINUED <br />Following discussion, the City Council continued to 3 p.m. on April 1, 2003, <br />discussion relative to the appeal of Administrative Variance Case VR-109- <br />023 by Chae O. Park from the decision of the Zoning Administrator in denying <br />his proposal for variances related to a garage conversion and building <br />addition on an approximately 10,600-square-foot parcel developed with a <br />single-family residence at 1244 Orange Street, situated s6utheasterly of the <br />intersection of Orange Street and Columbia Avenue, in Zone R-1-65. <br />Administrative variances requested: to permit (1)a room addition to <br />encroach 7 feet into the required 10-foot side yard setback; (2) a room <br />addition to encroach 18 feet 4 inches into the required 25-foot rear yard <br />setback; and (3) rear yard lot coverage to be 46 percent where a maximum of <br />35 percent is permitted. <br /> <br />CASE GP-008-023 - 1811 RIVERA - RESOLUTION <br />Hearing was called on the proposal of Adaptive Investments to amend the <br /> 88-317 <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br /> <br />
