DISCUSSION CALENDAR Motion Second All Ayes Motion Second All Ayes Motion Second All Ayes X ' X _ X X X X POLICE DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT CHANGES A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the Chief of Police recommending that the City Council authorize the addition of one Police Captain position to serve as a sec- ond Deputy Chief of Police, salary range $5,191-$6,310, to the Police Department Field Operations Division No. 101-231200. The Police Chief reviewed the report and answered questions from the Mayor and City Council. Following a brief discus- sign, the recommendation was approved as presented. - AWARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPT. PUBLIC INFORMATION CONTRACT A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the Public Utilities Director, concurred in by Chairwoman Kane of the City Council Finance Committee, recommending that the City Council (1) award the Public Utilities Department public in- formation contract to Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger Inc., in an amount not to exceed $121,000, for the duration of the 1993-94 Fiscal Year; and (2) authorize execution of the necessary doc- uments. Bill Frolich spoke relative to the matter. Following discussion, the recommendations were approved as presented. CURRENT VACANCIES ON MEASURE C COMMITTEE A written report was submitted from the City Manager and the Planning Director, concurred in by the Assistant City Manager - Development and Chairperson Pearson of the City Council Governmental Affairs Committee, recommending that the City Council (1) appoint Mary Humboldt, David Foust (pending his willingness to serve) and Charles Chapman to the Measure C Committee; and (2) authorize the current Measure C Committee members to decide who of the three will serve as an alternate. Councilmember Pearson advised the City Council that Mr. Foust has agreed to serve. Following a brief discussion, the recom- mendations were approved as presented.
