REPLACEMENT OF PLAQUE AND NAMING OF BALLFIELD AT BOBBY BONDS <br />PARK <br />Attending: Terri Thompson, Maureen Kane, Laura Pearson, <br />Deen Teer, Terry Nielsen,• Gilberto Chavez <br />Staff reviewed the two issues of replacing the plaque and the <br />naming of the ballfield at Bobby Bonds Park. <br />ACTION: <br />Committee approved authorization to pursue replacement of <br />plaque. <br />Staff will work with members of La Raza Coalition to develop <br />a replacement plaque as similar to the original as possible, <br />to be located at Lincoln Park. <br />Approved naming the ballfield at Bobby Bonds Park as <br />"Veteranos Field". <br />2. MILITARY ROLL OF HONOR <br />Attending: Terri Thompson, Maureen Kane, Laura Pearson, <br />Deen Teer, Terry Nielsen, Marjorie Von Pohle <br />Marjorie Von Pohle reported on her survey of Riverside war <br />dead from World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and <br />Desert Storm. A total of 76 veterans were verified to have <br />been killed in action who resided in the City of Riverside. <br />Nine of these veterans were Hispanic. <br />ACTION: <br />Several ideas were suggested for Council discussion: <br />1. Consider placing names on a plaque on a wall outside the <br />Council Chambers. Perhaps have a community -wide design <br />submittal. <br />2. Honor all veterans by adding to the World War I memorial <br />wall at the Municipal Auditorium. This might entail <br />
