GENERAL DISCUSSION REGARDING VARYING ISSUES: PARADE ROUTES, <br />REDEVELOPMENT PLANS IN DOWNTOWN AREA <br />Attending: Terri Thompson, Laura Pearson, John Ivey, Ralph <br />Megna, Judy Garrett, Rita Morton, Phil Pitchford, <br />Deen Teer <br />John Ivey discussed the Police Department's rationale for using the <br />current parade route which offers the least safety and traffic <br />problems. <br />ACTION: <br />- There are three parades that use the route: <br />History, and 3) Lester Oaks <br />1) RCC, 2) Black <br />- Parade sponsors (staff) have responsibility of notifying the <br />businesses along the parade route. <br />John Ivey will send copy of Parade permits for the three <br />parades to Chamber and Downtown Association. <br />- Refer matter of alternate time and day for parade to Chamber. <br />Rita Morton of Chamber will come back in June. <br />Ralph Megna answered Mr. Warren Valenson's questions. <br />Action: <br />- Redevelopment will make arrangements to have trees trimmed <br />near Mr. Valenson's "Top Dawg" business. <br />2. 1992 JULY FOURTH FIREWORKS PROGRAM <br />Attending: Terri Thompson, Laura Pearson, Dee Bachman, Doug Greene, <br />Gary Barnes, Phil Pitchford, Deen Teer <br />Dee Bachman discussed concerns that have surfaced regarding the <br />fireworks show at La Sierra.
