i~M-011-967 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6359 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 19.30.020 OF TITLE 19 OF THE 3 RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING THERETO A NEW SUBSECTION (71) TO REQUIRE A MINOR CONDITIONAL USE 4 PERMIT FOR PET STORES WITH INCIDENTAL VETERINARY CLINICS IN THE C-1-A COMMUNITY SHOPPING CENTER, C-2 5 RESTRICTED COMMERCIAL AND C-3 GENERAL COMMERCIAL ZONES. 6 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 7 does ordain as follows: 8 Section 1: Section 19.30.020 of the Riverside Municipal 9 Code is hereby amended by adding thereto a new subsection (71) to 10 read as follows: 11 "(71) Veterinary clinics incidental to a pet 12 store subject to approval of a minor conditional use permit and in accordance with the following 13 requirements: 14 A. The primary business shall involve the sale of pet supplies, small animals and 15 other items typically available at pet stores. However, a maximum of twenty (20) 16 percent of the gross floor area of the store may be used as a veterinary clinic for 17 purposes such as vaccinations and care of minor injuries and illnesses. 18 B. Except for pets offered for sale, no 19 overnight stays shall be allowed. 20 C. The entire use shall be conducted within a totally enclosed and air-conditioned 21 building with no outside runs or other outdoor uses. 22 D. The building space shall be adequately 23 soundproofed to assure that no noise will carry beyond the confines of the building or 24 space that the use would occupy. 25 E. No signage identifying the veterinary clinic is permitted. 26 F. No variances to the provisions of this 27 subsection of the Code shall be permitted."
