AM-005-967 <br /> <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6357 <br /> <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, <br /> AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY <br /> 3 AMENDING SECTIONS 19.07.030 (3) AND (5); 19.08.020 <br /> (3) AND (5); 19.10.020 (3) AND (5); AND 19.18.030 <br /> 4 (4) TO REQUIRE A MINOR CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR <br /> THE KEEPING OF ADDITIONAL ANIMALS IN RESIDENTIAL <br /> 5 (R-i) ZONES, INCLUDING THE HORSE RANCH (HR), <br /> RESIDENTIAL AGRICULTURAL (RA) AND (RA-2), AND RURAL <br /> 6 RESIDENTIAL (RR) ZONES BEYOND THE NUMBER CURRENTLY <br /> ALLOWED AS A MATTER OF RIGHT IN THOSE ZONES. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, <br /> 9 does ordain as follows: <br /> 10 Section 1: Section 19.07.030 (3) of the Riverside <br /> <br /> 11 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 12 "(3) The keeping of not more than five poultry, <br /> exclusive of crowing fowl as defined by section <br /> 13 19.04.097, and eighteen rabbits are permitted on <br /> any lot for noncommercial purposes, provided that <br /> 14 such animals are housed, kept or penned at least <br /> fifty feet from any residence excluding the <br /> 15 residence on the lot where the animals are kept, <br /> on an adjoining lot or parcel; the keeping of not <br /> 16 more than fifty poultry and forty-five rabbits on <br /> any lot for noncommercial purposes, provided that <br /> 17 such animals are housed, kept or penned at least <br /> one hundred feet from any residence, excluding <br /> 18 the residence on the lot where the animals are <br /> kept, on an adjoining lot or parcel. The maximum <br /> 19 number of rabbits allowed shall be the aggregate <br /> of both adult and immature rabbits of any age. <br /> 20 Additional poultry and rabbits for noncommercial <br /> or commercial purposes may be permitted subject <br /> 21 to the granting of a minor conditional use <br /> permit. The keeping of crowing fowl which exists <br /> 22 on December 1, 1994, or which exists on property <br /> at the time the site is annexed to the City or is <br /> 23 rezoned to "HR" after December 1, 1994, shall be <br /> abated within the amortization period of two <br /> 24 years; if said keeping of crowing fowl is not <br /> abated within such two year period, it will be a <br /> 25 violation of this section;" <br /> 26 Section 2: Section 19.07.030 (5) of the Riverside <br /> 27 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Attorney's Office <br />Street <br />CA 92522 <br />782-5567 F: ~WPDATA~ORD~97037501.
