AM-002-967 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6350 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY 3 ADDING THERETO A NEW SECTION 19.04.407 DEFINING PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY; AND BY AMENDING SECTION 4 19.76.020(2) 1.3. RELATED TO THE REMOVAL OF POLITICAL SIGNS FROM THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY WITHOUT 5 NOTICE. 6 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 7 does ordain as follows: 8 Section 1: Chapter 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal Code 9 is hereby amended by adding Section 19.04.407 to read as follows: 10 "19.04.407 PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY. 'Public right- of-way' means any place which is dedicated to use 11 by the public for pedestrian and vehicular travel, and includes, but is not limited to, a 12 street, sidewalk, curb, gutter, crossing, intersection, parkway, median, highway, alley, 13 lane, mall, court, way, avenue, boulevard, road, roadway, viaduct, subway, tunnel, bridge, 14 thoroughfare, park square, and other similar public way." 15 16 Section 2: Chapter 19.76 of the Riverside Municipal Code 17 is hereby amended by amending Section 19.76.020 (2) I 3 to read 18 as follows: 19 "3. No political sign may be erected on City property or street right-of-way. Any political 20 sign within the public right-of-way is subject to removal without notice pursuant to Chapter 21 10.16.040 of this Code." 22 Section 3: The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption 23 of this ordinance and cause publication once in a newspaper of 24 general circulation in accordance with Section 414 of the Charter 25 of the City of Riverside.
