1 ORDINANCE NO. 6349 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 1 OF THE RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL CODE BY 3 AMENDING SECTION 1.01.110 (a) TO MAKE, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, VIOLATIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE 4 PUNISHABLE AS MISDEMEANORS; BY AMENDING SECTION 1.01.110 (b) TO MAKE THE MAXIMUM INFRACTION FINE 5 LEVIED BY THE CITY CONSISTENT WITH STATE LAW; AND BY ADDING SECTION 1.01.110 (h) TO MAKE THE SECOND AND 6 EACH ADDITIONAL INFRACTION VIOLATION PUNISHABLE AS A MISDEMEANOR AT THE DISCRETION OF THE CITY ATTORNEY. 7 8 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 9 does ordain as follows: 10 Section 1: Chapter 1.01 of the Riverside Municipal Code tl is hereby amended by amending Section 1.01.110 (a) to read as 12 follows: 13 "a. It is unlawful for any person to violate any provision or to fail to comply with any of the 14 requirements or provisions of this code heretofore or hereafter enacted or the provisions of any code adopted 15 by reference by this code. Any person violating any of such provisions or failing to comply with any of the 16 mandatory requirements of this code, or any code adopted by reference by this code, shall be guilty of a 17 misdemeanor, unless such violation or failure to comply is specifically declared to be an infraction by other 18 provisions of this code. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this code, any such violation constituting 19 a misdemeanor may, in the discretion of the City Attorney, be charged and prosecuted as an infraction." 20 21 Section 2: Chapter 1.01 of the Riverside Municipal Code 22 is hereby amended by amending Section 1.01.110 (b) to read as 23 follows: 24 "b.
