People Serving <br />People <br /> <br /> CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Riverside <br /> <br />1998 <br /> <br />HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: November 19, 2002 <br /> <br /> ITEM NO: .37 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: PUBLIC UTILITIES FISCAL YEAR-END 2001-2002 FINANCIAL REPORT <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />The Public Utilities Department uses formalized long-term financial plans and establishes revenue and <br />expense targets for each fiscal year for the Water and Electric Utilities. The attached report has been <br />prepared by staff to compare actual results for fiscal year 2001-2002 to the targets established in the <br />long-term financial plan for each utility. Unaudited results have been presented in order to provide timely <br />information to the Board of Public Utilities and the City Council. <br /> <br />The Board of Public Utilities reviewed the attached report at its meeting of October 4, 2002 and voted <br />unanimously to receive and file the report. <br /> <br />This report was presented to the Finance Committee at its meeting on October 28, 2002. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />COMMFI-FEE RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> <br />Staff presented this item to the Finance Committee on October 28, 2002. Two Committee members were <br />present (Member Chuck Beaty was absent). Finance Committee concurred in the suggested <br />recommendations and move this item forward to the full City Council. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> <br />That the City Council receive and file the attached report. <br /> <br />37-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
