The vehicles to be cycled out are selected based on the condition and age of the vehicle. The City of <br />Rialto has contacted the Riverside Police Department in regards to acquiring some of these used vehicles for <br />their fleet of marked vehicles. Units 3728, 3730, 3724, 3733 and 3702 (City Asset Nos. B1009, B1011, <br />B 1005, B 1014 and B416 respectively) have been selected by the Rialto Police Department for acquisition. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT: <br /> <br />The average price for the sale of a used vehicle at salvage is $1,700. The City of Rialto has asked to purchase <br />the vehicles for $1,500 each for a total of $7,500 for the five units. <br /> <br />ALTERNATIVES: <br /> <br /> 1. Do not sell the vehicles to the Rialto Police Department and sell at salvage. <br /> <br /> 2. Dispose of the vehicles through the bid or auction process. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br /> <br />That the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Declare the units surplus to the needs of the Police Department. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the sale o£units 3728, 3730, 3724, 3733 and 3702 (City Asset Nos. B 1009, B 1011, B 1005, <br /> B1014 and B416 respectively) to the Rialto Police Department for $1,500 per vehicle. <br /> <br />25-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
