People Serving <br />People <br /> <br /> Riverside <br /> CITY OF RIVERSIDE <br /> <br />AGENCY MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />HONORABLE MAYOR AND AGENCY MEMBERS <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br /> DATE: November 19, 2002 <br /> ITEM NO: 5 <br /> <br />Request Approval of the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation Loans and Grants (City <br />Wide, Senior Grants and Emergency Grants) <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />In accordance with the provisions of their contract, the Riverside Housing Development Corporation <br />(RHDC) has determined that the following application(s) is/are eligible to participate in the CDBG <br />Housing Rehabilitation Loan/grant Programs. This/these applicant(s) is/are as follows: <br /> <br />CURRENT ISSUE: <br />14-039 Ileana Pardillo 3634 Hoover Street (04) CW R/L $30,000.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to re-roof house, paint exterior, install central air and heat, security screen door, vinyl <br />floor covering, weather-stripping, GFI's and smoke detectors, bring hot water heater up to code, and <br />repair drywall and exposed wiring. Areas containing lead-based paint which are deteriorated or will be <br />disturbed during rehabilitation will be handled by a Certified Contractor. <br /> <br />15-020 Jeffrey & Rebecca Larson 4008 Linwood Place (06) <br /> <br />ER/G $1,200.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used for emergency replacement of hot water heater. Pour slab and install PC 44 post <br />brackets and frame wall. Re-pipe all pipes to move water heater. Install a new gate valve & gas valve. <br />Install new 40 gallon water heater with all new pt valve, drain flex lines, vented to brick chase, strap to <br />new wall and purchase permits. <br /> <br />14-066 Carolyn Acosta <br /> <br />7944 Remington Drive (03) ER/G $850.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used for emergency replacement of hot water heater. Cut approximate 4 X 8 drywall. <br />Repair leaking pipe. Inspect dryrot and replace. Install drywall where removed and tape all joints. Install <br />40-gallon water heater. Include new flex lines, pt valve, and drain, strap to wall. Install smitty pan. <br /> <br />14-049 Margaret Rogers <br /> <br />3457 Strong Street (01) <br /> <br />CW S/G $5,000.00 <br /> <br />Funds will be used to replace deadbolt lock on front security screen door, GFCl outlets in kitchen and <br />bathroom, a 20-amp dedicated circuit, a wall heater to code, linoleum flooring in bathroom and replace <br />toilet and hot water heater up to code. A lead based paint inspection was conducted and the contractor <br />will utilize safe work practices when disturbing any painted surfaces. -- ( ~ <br /> <br />5-1 <br /> <br /> <br />
