Some topics and specific suggestions follow.

(1) Land Use:
Compatibility of residential, commercial and indus-
trial areas. Providing buffer areas when necessary to pro-
tect the quality of living.
Preserve the Arlington Heights Citrus Greenbelt.
See my letter of May 14 to the Council and Mayor in this

regard.

(2) Air Quality:
Health impacts should be the primary consideration,
re j ecting installations vThiuh emit significant toxics.
While the SCA~'ill has enforcement jurisdiction, the city has
the responsibility for placement, and the essential role.
The Inla...Dd CO"Lmties are the most polluted section of the
country and especially vu~nerable because of the tOl)ogra~)hy
here, thus calling for ongoing attention and tOD priority.
Copies to: ~ayor
VCity Council
~ity Manager
in addition to po.rks. City Attorney

(3)

Environnent:

Leaving open space,

Avoid placing developments in or near flood plains, arroyos, etc.
