Ms. Peterson
presented what they hope to accomplish with the renovation and
expansion project of the Riverside Metropolitan Museum. She noted that
this was a very broad presentation in that this project is a work in progress
F
and not all the details have been decided. The Museum staff hopes to do
everything necessary to ensure that Riverside ends up with a facility that
F
meets museum - specific needs and 21st-century audience demands.
Following discussion, board members noted that the last slide had ad hoc
F
advisory groups and asked if they could participate in these ad hoc
advisory groups. Chair Lech and Board Member Preston - Chavez
F
volunteered to serve on the Design Team. Board Member Ferguson
volunteered to serve on the Branding and Marketing Team.
Ms. Peterson welcomed anyone to join the advisory committees and asked
anyone interested, to please contact her.
F
A question was raised regarding a possible conflict of interest, should the
board members serve on the Design Team because it is possible that the
project would come before the Cultural Heritage Board in the future.
Anthony Beaumon, Deputy City Attorney, stated that the item could be
F
agendized for the next meeting so that he may research this and respond
to the question.
F
Chair Lech thanked Ms. Peterson for the presentation and the Board took
no formal action.
I
Approved - Cultural Heritage Board Minutes — May 30, 2018
Page 1 of 2
