1 RESOLUTION NO. ]8849 <br /> 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR <br /> 3 GRANT FUNDS FROM THE ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT AND <br /> MITIGATION PROGRAM PURSUANT TO SECTION 164.56 OF THE <br /> 4 STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE FOR THE VAN BUREN <br /> BOULEVARD AT THE SANTA ANA RIVER PROJECT; <br /> 5 AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF SAID APPLICATION WITH THE <br /> STATE RESOURCES AGENCY; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT; AND <br /> 6 AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE NECESSARY <br /> DOCUMENTS. <br />7 <br />8 WHEREAS the Legislature of the State of California has <br />9 enacted AB 471 (Chapter 106, Statutes of 1989), as amended, known <br />10 as the Katz-Kopp-Baker-Campbell Transportation Blueprint for the <br />11 Twenty-First Century which added a new Section 164.56 to the <br />12 Streets and Highways Code which allocates $10 million annually <br />13 for a period of 10 years to the Environmental and Mitigation <br />14 Demonstration Program Fund for grant funds to local, state and <br />15 federal agencies and nonprofit entities for projects to enhance <br />16 and mitigate the environmental impacts of modified or new public <br />17 transportation facilities; and <br />18 WHEREAS the Resources Agency has established the <br />19 procedures and criteria for reviewing grant proposals and is <br />20 required to submit to the California Transportation Commission a <br />21 list of recommended projects from which the grant recipients will <br />22 be selected; and <br />23 WHEREAS said procedures and criteria established by the <br />24 Resources Agency require the applicant to certify by resolution <br />25 the approval of the application before submission of said <br />26 application to the state; and <br />27 WHEREAS the application contains assurances with which <br />Attorney's Once <br />~reet <br />CA 92522 <br />782-~67 <br /> F:\WPDATA\RES\96011101.CC <br /> <br /> <br />
