, <br />r <br />1E <br />Adjqurned regular meeting of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of <br />Riverside, held on Tuesday, November 19, 1912, at 9:15 o'clock A.M. <br />r r <br />Present: Mayor Peters, presiding; Councilmen Hanna, Strickler, Brown, <br />Horse, lusters and Stalder; Clerk Cree. <br />The minutes of the meeting of November 12, 1912, were read and approved. <br />w r r <br />The Mayor made verbal reports as follows: <br />(1) With reference to a conference with certain civic organizations of <br />the city and the appointment by these organizations of committees for the pur- <br />pose of conducting a campaign in the interests of the water works bond election. <br />(2) With reference to his negotiations with the president and board of <br />directors of the Riverside Water Company in the matter of securing an exterision <br />of the city's option to purchase the domestic system. <br />(3) With reference to proposals for City hall quarters. <br />The above verbal reports were received and filed. <br />The Clerk reported the request of C. L. Nye that the proposal of the <br />Loring Opera House Company for the extension of.the present City hall lease, <br />filed with the Council on the 12th inst., be withdrawn. <br />At the request of the Mayor, Mr. INye appeared before the Council, and <br />submitted a verbal offer to extend lease on present City Hall quarters for a <br />term of two years at a rental of $175 per .month, agreeing to make any improve- <br />ments the city might deem necessary, and at the end of two years to allow.the <br />city to remain from month to month at a rental of $200 per month. <br />Later lir. ldye amended the above proposal by offering to make the rental <br />0175 per month, for such period as the Council might desire to take advantage <br />of such offer. <br />Mr, Chas. L. Reynolds was present, and amended his proposal to lease <br />quarters for City Hall purposes, filed with the Council on the 12th inst., by <br />offering same at the end of two years at a rental of $175 per month for a <br />period of not to exceed three years, the'city to have the right to terminate <br />the lease at any time during said period. <br />It was moved by Councilman Masters, seconded by Councilman horse, that <br />the Council resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole to consider the <br />above proposals.
