1' 21 31 RESOLUTION NO. 2013-2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (1) ADOPTING REVISED WATER RATE SCHEDULES WA -1, WA -2, WA 3, WA49 WA -5, WA -6, WA -7, WA -8, WA - 9 AND WA -10; AND (2) RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL THEREOF 5 WHEREAS, the City of Riverside's {"City") Department of Public Utilities ("RPU'J has 6 submitted for action by the Board of Public Utilities ("Board") and the City Council, the 7 proposed adoption and approval of revised Water Rate Schedules, as further explained herein; 8 11 and Y WHEREAS, RPU has water rates that are tailored to meet the needs of specific water 10 customers, address a particular function of the water side of the utility, or both; and 1 i WHEREAS, in the recent Measure A election, conducted on lune 4, 2013, 68 percent of 12 voters agreed that the City of Riverside should continue a tax of a transfer of up to 11.5 percent 13 of water revenues to the City's General Fund to support City services; and 14 WHEREAS, RPU recommends adding the following language to all water tariffs: 'The 15 Water General Fund Transfer is a component of every customer's water bill, and is a transfer of 16 up to 11 S percent of revenues from the Water Fund to the City's General Fund. On June 4, 2013, 17 the voters of the City of Riverside approved the Water General Fund Transfer as a general tax, 18 pursuant to Article 13.0 of the California Constitution;" and 19 WHEREAS, a public hearing, notice of which was duly published in The Press - 20 EnteWdse on July 4 and _LL_, 2013, in compliance with Government Code Sections 66018 21 and 6062a, was held on July 19, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. before the Board of Public Utilities to 22 consider the revisions, additions and deletions noted herein; and 23 WHEREAS, the Board is charged by Section 1202(e) of the City Charter to establish and 24 adopt the rates, rules, fees and charges for the Electric and Water Utility, subject to the approval 25 of the City Council; and 26 WHEREAS, the Board intends to establish and adopt the revised Water Rate Schedules 27 WA -1, WA -2, WA -3, WA4, WA -5, WA -6, WA -7, WA -8, WA -9 and WA -10, all in 28 accordance with RPU staff recommendations.
