1' <br />21 <br />31 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2013-2 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (1) ADOPTING REVISED WATER RATE <br />SCHEDULES WA -1, WA -2, WA 3, WA49 WA -5, WA -6, WA -7, WA -8, WA - <br />9 AND WA -10; AND (2) RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL <br />THEREOF <br />5 WHEREAS, the City of Riverside's {"City") Department of Public Utilities ("RPU'J has <br />6 submitted for action by the Board of Public Utilities ("Board") and the City Council, the <br />7 proposed adoption and approval of revised Water Rate Schedules, as further explained herein; <br />8 11 and <br />Y <br />WHEREAS, RPU has water rates that are tailored to meet the needs of specific water <br />10 <br />customers, address a particular function of the water side of the utility, or both; and <br />1 i <br />WHEREAS, in the recent Measure A election, conducted on lune 4, 2013, 68 percent of <br />12 <br />voters agreed that the City of Riverside should continue a tax of a transfer of up to 11.5 percent <br />13 <br />of water revenues to the City's General Fund to support City services; and <br />14 <br />WHEREAS, RPU recommends adding the following language to all water tariffs: 'The <br />15 <br />Water General Fund Transfer is a component of every customer's water bill, and is a transfer of <br />16 <br />up to 11 S percent of revenues from the Water Fund to the City's General Fund. On June 4, 2013, <br />17 <br />the voters of the City of Riverside approved the Water General Fund Transfer as a general tax, <br />18 <br />pursuant to Article 13.0 of the California Constitution;" and <br />19 <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing, notice of which was duly published in The Press - <br />20 <br />EnteWdse on July 4 and _LL_, 2013, in compliance with Government Code Sections 66018 <br />21 <br />and 6062a, was held on July 19, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. before the Board of Public Utilities to <br />22 <br />consider the revisions, additions and deletions noted herein; and <br />23 <br />WHEREAS, the Board is charged by Section 1202(e) of the City Charter to establish and <br />24 <br />adopt the rates, rules, fees and charges for the Electric and Water Utility, subject to the approval <br />25 <br />of the City Council; and <br />26 <br />WHEREAS, the Board intends to establish and adopt the revised Water Rate Schedules <br />27 <br />WA -1, WA -2, WA -3, WA4, WA -5, WA -6, WA -7, WA -8, WA -9 and WA -10, all in <br />28 <br />accordance with RPU staff recommendations. <br />G7TAi'taPllYO,IQ <br />7�MYVS7sr <br />wam <br />1 <br />
