I <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />Is <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />CMlATF0M4[ CW= <br />3MMA115L-. <br />1WM6MCA9= <br />(991) 316 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012-02 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY <br />OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, (1) ADOPTING THE TEMPORARY <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT RATE (SCHEDULE TED), INCLUDING <br />GUIDELINES TO BE USED BY THE RPU GENERAL MANAGER IN <br />DETERMINING THE ELIGIBILITY OF CUSTOMERS FOR THESE RATES; <br />(2) ADOPTING THE REVISED BUSINESS RETENTION RATE <br />(CO(3)MIGGRE ACT; AND (4) <br />REMMENDING CITY NAPPROV�THEREOF <br />WHEREAS, the City of Riverside ("City" or "Riverside? by and through its Public <br />Utilities Department ("RPU") is obligated to (1) serve its electric customers safe, reliable and <br />equitably priced electricity, (2) operate its Electric Utility in an efficient and economical manner, <br />and (3) operate, maintain and preserve its Electric Utility in good repair and working order, and <br />WHEREAS, the RPU Electric Environmental and Economic Effectiveness (E4) Plan, <br />approved by City Council in July 2010, was created by RPU to assist Riverside in continuing to <br />be at the forefront of sustainability and developing a green economy while creating a market <br />segment that can provide jobs and local economic development. The multi -faceted plan <br />developed by staff promoted economic development while still being environmentally <br />responsible. The plan included components for energy efficiency, renewable energy, green jobs, <br />economic development, low income assistance, and an electric rate "freeze" through the end of <br />2012; and <br />WHEREAS, RPU proposes to create Schedule TED for new qualifying electric <br />customers that provides discounts of 30%, 20% and 10% through December 31, 2013, 2014 and <br />2015, respectively; and <br />WHEREAS, rate discounts would apply to the customer's otherwise applicable tariff. <br />New customers must be a new commercial entity to the City and have a projected minimum <br />monthly demand equal to or exceeding 20kW and not exceeding 500 kW, and are not otherwise <br />limited by business type, Customers must agree to execute a TED agreement requiring <br />reimbursement of the discounted rate should the customer cease operations or fail to maintain a <br />minimum monthly demand of 20kW in any two of the preceding twelve months at any time <br />through December 31, 2017; and <br />1 <br />
