1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />I3 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />OTT ATr0owl0wlc� <br />Rr0aMW ,C,A9= <br />MI)l**W <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010- 02 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTIIdT1ES OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (1) ADOPTING REVISED ELECTRIC RATE <br />SCHEDULE A (GENERAL SERVICE), SCHEDULED (DOMESTIC <br />SERVICE), SCHEDULE PW -1 (WIND MACHINES FOR FROST <br />PROTECTION) AND SCHEDULE TOU (LARGE GENERAL AND <br />INDUSTRIAL SERVICE), EFFECTIVE UPON APPROVAL; (2) MAKWG <br />FINDINGS OF FACT; (3) MAKING FINDING OF CEQA EXEMPTION AND <br />(4) RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL THEREOF <br />WHEREAS, the City of Riverside's ("City") Department of Public Utilities ("RPU) has <br />submitted for action by the Board of Public Utilities ("Board") and the City Council, the <br />proposed adoption and approval of revised Electric Rate Schedule A (General Service), Schedule <br />D (Domestic Service), Schedule PW -I (Wind Machines For Frost Protection) and Schedule TOU <br />(Large General And industrial Service), all effective upon approval; and <br />WHEREAS, the City's Electric Utility provides service to over I05,000 metered electric <br />customers pursuant to its Electric Rules and Rate Tariffs; and <br />WHEREAS, in December 2007, the City Council approved the three-year Electric Utility <br />Rate Plan, a major component of which included a Reliability Charge to fund electric system <br />reliability improvements, including a second interconnection to the State's transmission grid and <br />construction of internal generation to ensure import capability and reliable service delivery <br />during times of peak and normal energy use; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reliability Charge was allocated amongst customers based upon <br />electrical usage and demands upon the Electric Utility's distribution and transmission system, as <br />reflected either by the customer's maximum rated electric service panel capacity, or through a <br />combination of such panel capacity and actual usage; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of the Reliability Charges, the Electric Utility is <br />now recommending adjustments to the application of the Reliability Charge to ensure that the <br />customer's payment of such charge is commensurate with that customer's electrical usage and <br />demands, as further described herein; and <br />I <br />
