I RESOLUTION NO. 2000-1 <br />2 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE CITY OF <br />RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A REVISED WATER RATE <br />3 SCHEDULE WA -8, GREENBELT IRRIGATION SERVICE, AND RECOMMENDING <br />CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL THEREOF. <br />4 <br />5 WHEREAS, the City of Riverside's Department of Public Utilities ("Department") has <br />6 submitted to the Board of Public Utilities ("Board") proposed revisions to water rate Schedule <br />7 WA -8, Greenbelt Irrigation Service ("Schedule WA -8"), to provide for a decrease in the irrigation <br />8 water rate applicable to agricultural users in the Greenbelt area of the City of Riverside for <br />9 properties previously served by the Gage Canal Company and other areas located in the Gage <br />10 Canal Company service area, where practical and physically able to take service from Gage Canal <br />I 1 facilities; and <br />12 WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing on December 17, 1999, to receive and review <br />13 comments upon the proposed revisions to Schedule WA -8, was duly published commencing <br />14 December 2, 1999; and <br />15 WHEREAS, the Board held the public hearing on December 17, 1999, to hear any <br />16 comments on the proposed revisions to Schedule WA -8; and <br />17 WHEREAS, on January 21, 2000 the Board heard the Department staffs presentation and <br />18 materials regarding such proposed revisions; and <br />19 WHEREAS, these proposed revisions would encourage citrus development in the <br />20 Greenbelt and allow current agricultural users in the Greenbelt to maintain their properties in good <br />21 condition by reducing the Schedule WA -8 rate to a rate equivalent to the rate paid by Gage Canal <br />22 Company customers; and <br />23 WHEREAS, the Board concurs with the Department's recommendation and concludes that <br />24 the recommended revised Schedule WA -8 should be established; <br />25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Utilities of the City of <br />26 Riverside, California, as follows: <br />27 Section 1: The foregoing recitals are true and correct and are adopted and incorporated <br />Cily Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main 5treel <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909)782-5567 <br />
