1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 { <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />1& <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 . <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909)782-5567 <br />C� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 93-4 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES OF THE <br />CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PROCEDURES <br />FOR PROCESSING MUNICIPAL PUBLIC WORKS PROJECT <br />CONTRACT CHANGE ORDERS AND AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES <br />THEREFOR PURSUANT TO SECTION 1202(b) OF THE CITY <br />CHARTER. <br />WHEREAS Section 1202(b) of the City Charter requires <br />Board authorization for expenditures in excess of $5,000 for <br />municipal public works projects involving the public utility <br />systems; and <br />WHEREAS unforeseen obstacles or changing conditions at <br />a job site, or adjustments to a project's design, frequently <br />require contract change orders increasing or decreasing the <br />scope of the work; and <br />WHEREAS such circumstances may require the making of <br />prompt decisions due to the costs involved in idling or <br />delaying the construction forces and equipment already on the <br />job site and, in some instances, public safety or customer <br />convenience concerns; and <br />WHEREAS the Board desires to adopt a procedure which <br />allows staff of the Public Utilities Department to negotiate <br />contract change orders in a timely and efficient manner, and to <br />authorize the expenditures in advance subject to the <br />limitations hereinafter set forth; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public <br />Utilities of the City of Riverside, California, that the <br />following procedures are hereby adopted for processing contract <br />change orders in municipal public works projects involving the <br />F:\WPaATA\RES\93253501 '-'I'-- <br />i <br />': <br />
