Theresa Newham spoke <br />regarding the Ward 7 vacancy. <br />PRESENTATION <br />INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW AND <br />EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION <br />The City Council received and ordered filed the overview of the Innovation <br />and Technology Department and recognized the Department's employees. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />LEGISLATIVE REPORT <br />Intergovernmental Relations Officer Lopez reported on housing legislative <br />proposals and the All California Defense Summit. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />FIT, FRESH, AND FUN RIVERSIDE UPDATE <br />Following discussion and without formal motion, the City Council received <br />and ordered filed the Fit, Fresh, and Fun Riverside update. <br />ASSEMBLY BILL 890 - LAND USE: PLANNING AND ZONING AND <br />INITIATIVES <br />Following discussion, motion was made and seconded to (1) request <br />Assemblymember Medina to convert Assembly Bill 890, as amended on <br />Motion <br />X <br />August 22, 2017, to a two-year bill; and (2) if declined, take a position in <br />Second <br />X <br />opposition. <br />Motion <br />X <br />Follow further discussion, a substitution motion was made and carried to <br />Second <br />X <br />remain neutral on Assembly Bill 890, as amended, regarding land use <br />Ayes X <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />matters and initiatives with Mayor Bailey voting aye. <br />Noes <br />X <br />X <br />X <br />103-47 <br />
