<br />The minutes of the meeting of October 31, 1950 were read and approved.
<br />Upon motion of Councilman Carter (Thomas), seconded by Councilman Fowler, and duly carried,
<br />IT WAS ORDERED that, pursuant to the recommendation of the Public Safety Committee of the Council
<br />and the Chief of Police, in the interest of public safety, the Police Department be, and it is hereby,
<br />authorized and directed to establish a "Bus Zone" on the west side of Orange Street, between Sixth
<br />Street and Seventh Street, adjacent to the Mission Inn, beginning at the southern end of the passenger
<br />loading zone, extending to a point 50 feet north of the property line of the intersection of Seventh
<br />Street.
<br />This motion carried by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Councilmen Rawlings, Fowler, Carter (Thomas), Patterson, Dales, and Brand.
<br />Noes: None.
<br />Absent: Councilman Hair.
<br />Upon motion of Councilman I'attercon, seconded by Councilman Rawlings, and duly carried, IT
<br />WAS ORDERED that the claim of Messrs. Cosgrove, Clayton, Cramer and Diether, 456 South Spring Street,
<br />Loa Angeles 13, California, amounting to $1,990.08, being for professional services rendered by
<br />T. B. Cosgrove for the months of June, July, August, September and October, 1950, pursuant to
<br />the terms of contract of employment dated August 7, 1947, be, and the same is hereby, approved and
<br />ordered paid.
<br />This motion carried by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Councilmen Rawlings, Fowler, Carter (Thomas), Patterson, Dales, and Brand.

<br />Upon motion of Councilman Patterson, seconded by Councilman Dales, and duly carried, IT
<br />WAS ORDERED that, pursuant to the request of Mrs. J. K. Mace, 6854 Capistrano Way, permission be,
<br />and the same is hereby, granted Circle 6 of the First Methodist Church to conduct a rummage sale
<br />at Lincoln Park Recreation Center on November 7 and 8, 1950, and the business license fee required
<br />for such activity is hereby ordered waived for reasons found satisfactory to the Council.
