MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Monday, March13, 2017,6:30p.m. <br />Dales SeniorCenter–WhitePark <br />3936 Chestnut Street <br />Riverside, CA 92501 <br />951-826-2000 <br />Commissioners Present:Johnson, Rounds, Whatley, Cardullo, Feola, Elliot, Venegas and <br />Negron <br />Staff Present:Adolfo Cruz, Director <br />Mario Lara, Deputy Director <br />Andrew Emery, Park Superintendent <br />Robin Metz, Recreation Superintendent <br />Patricia Solano, Community Services Superintendent <br />Randy McDaniel, Principal Park Planner <br />Mayra Ocampo, Senior Administrative Assistant <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />ChairJohnsoncalled the meeting to order at approximately 6:30p.m. <br />CITIZENS PARTICIPATION <br />1.PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD <br />Chair Johnson read the eComment from Daphne Fairbairn regarding adding a dog park area to <br />Andulka Park. <br />Resident Theresa Newham, from the Grand neighborhoods, spoke about the March 5, 2017, <br />newspaper article regarding Hole Lake and expressed her opposition to develop a park and/or lake <br />in the Rutland Park area. <br />ResidentMarilyn Whitney, from Ward 7, providedthe Commission with history regarding Camp <br />Anza, now known as De Anza Park; she expressed her vigorous opposition to developanything on <br />that land. <br />Commissioner Negron walked in during this item at approximately 6:40 p.m. <br />2.PUBLIC CORRESPONDENCES <br />The Commission received and read the email from participant Ann Dale regarding employee Jake <br />Rosenberger and the aquatics program. <br />3.APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />
