MASSAGE APPEAL COMMITTEE <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 2002, 10 A.M. <br />SEVENTH FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br /> <br />Members Ted Pena, Joy Defenbaugh, and Chair Ed Adkison <br /> <br />Interim City Attorney Gregory Priamos, City Clerk Colleen <br />Nicol, Lt. Pete Esquivel, Appellant Kathy Perez, and Dr. <br />McLaughlin <br /> <br />Chair Adkison called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There were no oral comments presented at this time. <br /> <br />MASSAGE PERMIT DENIAL - APPEAL - KATHY PEREZ <br />Following discussion, a report from Lt. Pete Esquivel, and comments from <br />Appellant Kathy Perez and Dr. McLaughlin, the appeal hearing was closed. <br />Following further discussion, and without formal motion, the Committee <br />unanimously (1) upheld the decision of the Chief of Police in denying the <br />application of Kathy Perez for a Massage Permit; (2) requested the Interim City <br />Attorney to issue notice of the denial and provide the Code requirements for <br />issuance of a massage permit; and (3) determined that the reapplication fees <br />shall be waived upon successful reapplication within one year. Interim City <br />Attorney Priamos advised the applicant of her appeal rights to Riverside County <br />Superior Court. <br /> <br />The Massage Appeal Committee adjourned at 10:40 a.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />mac.042302 <br /> <br /> <br />
