City oJArts &Innovation <br />City Council Memorandum <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />FROM: FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: MARCH 14, 2017 <br />WARDS: ALL <br />SUBJECT: FISCAL YEAR 2016 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM GRANT <br />AWARD FROM THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $48,109 - SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION <br />ISSUE: <br />Accept a grant in the amount of $48,109 from the Fiscal Year 2016 State Homeland Security <br />Program (SHSP) for the Fire Department. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the City Council: <br />1. Accept the Fiscal Year 2016 State Homeland Security Program award in the amount of <br />$48,109; <br />2. Adopt the attached Resolution designating the City Manager, or his designee, as the <br />Authorized Agent for Signature Authority to execute all necessary grant agreement <br />documents between the City of Riverside and the County of Riverside Emergency <br />Management Department and any other actions necessary for the purpose of obtaining <br />financial assistance; and <br />3. Upon grant award, increase revenues in the amount of $48,109 and appropriate <br />expenditures in the same amount to an account as assigned by the Finance Department. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Riverside Fire Department has been awarded funding from the US Department of Homeland <br />Security (DHS) Fiscal Year 2016 State Homeland Security Program sub - granted to the County of <br />Riverside Emergency Management Department to develop and enhance citizen preparedness <br />and participation. <br />
