HUMAN RESOURCES BOARD <br />Meeting Minutes <br />Monday, October 3, 2016 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Human Resources Board was called to order at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, <br />2016 in the City Hall Art Pick Council Chamber by Chair Sonya Dew. <br />Present: Excused Absence: Unexcused Absence: <br />Alysia Webb (Left 6:01 p.m.) <br />Deanna Brown <br />Elvira DeCuir (Arrived 5:04p.m.) <br />Lana Haddad <br />Lance Sayavong <br />Sherry Mellott <br />Sonya Dew <br />Tricia Eibs <br />Colene Torres <br />Pia Rose <br />Public Comment Period: <br /> Geraldine Farris spoke regarding the number of veterans the City of Riverside hires. <br /> Jason Hunter spoke and indicated that the Board makes recommendations to the City Council not the <br />City Manager. <br />A. Approval of September 3, 2016 Minutes <br />Approved: Lance Sayavong <br />Second: Lana Haddad <br />There was an amendment to the minutes requested by Board Member Lana Haddad. The parties amended the <br />motion as stated. <br />B. Agenda Items <br />1. Performance Evaluation Presentation – Mylene Daniels, Business Systems Support Manager <br /> Business Systems Support Manager Mylene Daniels presented the Board with a PowerPoint <br />presentation overview of the revised performance evaluation process/form. Mrs. Daniels also played a <br />short video for the Board regarding the new performance appraisal process. <br /> Mrs. Daniels informed the Board that new performance evaluation form is a two way process that <br />allows the employee to self-rate their performance. The employee’s supervisor is then asked to rate the <br />employee’s performance and create dialogue between the two in an effort to provide feedback in each <br />area and establish new goals and expectations for the next one-year appraisal period. <br /> Board Member Patricia Eibs inquired as to if the employee and supervisor completes the evaluation on <br />two separate forms so that the supervisor is not influenced by the employee’s comments. Business <br />Systems Support Manager Mylene Daniels replied and informed Mrs. Eibs that currently there is only <br />one form utilized for both, the employee and supervisor. Interim Human Resources Director Pia Rose <br />informed Mrs. Eibs that she would share her feedback with the executive team. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
