1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20093 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br />CALIFORNIA (1) WAIVING THE COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT <br />REQUIREMENTS OF RESOLUTION NO. 17788 FOR THE ANNUAL <br />MAINTENANCE OF CITY TELECOMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT, AND (2) <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br />AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF CITY TELECOMMUNICATIONS <br />EQUIPMENT WITH MOTOROLA, INC., COMMERCIAL, GOVERNMENT, AND <br />INDUSTRIAL SOLUTIONS SECTOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on September 24, 1998, City entered into an agreement with Motorola, Inc., <br />Land Mobile Products Sector, now known as Motorola, Inc., Commercial, Government, and <br />Industrial Solutions Sector ("Motorola"), to provide annual maintenance of City <br />telecommunications equipment for various departments, excluding Police and Fire, during the term <br />of August 1, 1998, through June 30, 2001 ("Agreement"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Agreement provides that its terms and conditions shall remain in full <br />force and effect for such reasonable length of time that might prove necessary for the City to award <br />a new contract where unforeseen cimumstances prevent City from executing such contract prior to <br />the expiration of the term of the Agreement; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in order to maintain uninterrupted maintenance of the City's mobile <br />telecommunications equipment while new bid specifications were being developed, the City's <br />Purchasing Services Manager issued Purchase Order No. 020546, Change Order No. 1 and Change <br />Order No. 2 extending the term of the Agreement for an additional six (6) months commencing July <br />1, 2001, through December 30, 2001; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City is in need of continued maintenance of its telecommunications <br /> equipment and the development of bid specifications for said maintenance has taken longer than <br /> anticipated; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to extend the term of the Agreement with Motorola for an <br /> additional six months, commencing December 31,2001, in order to allow uninterrupted <br /> maintenance of the City's mobile communications equipment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Motorola has offered to provide the City with its maintenance services for <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 826-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
