1 <br /> <br /> 2 <br /> <br /> 3 <br /> <br /> 4 <br /> <br /> 5 <br /> <br /> 6 <br /> <br /> 7 <br /> <br /> 8 <br /> <br /> 9 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 20086 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, <br />CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 20026, OFFERING A REWARD <br />IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000 FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE <br />DETERMINATION OF THE IDENTITY OF, AND THE APPREHENSION OF, <br />THOSE PERSONS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MURDER OF CHARLES <br />"CHUCKLE" MARTINEZ ON JUNE 7, 1999. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Riverside may offer and pay rewards as authorized by those <br />provisions of Sections 53069.5 and 53069.7 of the Government Code of the State of California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 53069.5 specifically authorizes the City to offer and pay a reward, <br />the amount thereof to be determined by the local agency, for information leading to the <br />determination of the identity of, and the apprehension of, any person whose willful misconduct <br />results in injury or death to any person or who willfully damages or destroys any property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on March 20, 2001, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 19873 <br />approving the Riverside Police Department's Reward Program and authorizing its implementation; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on June 7, 1999 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Charles "Chuckie" Martinez <br />was stabbed, stomped, shot and killed in front of his home at the intersection of Fern & Cary in the <br />Casa Blanca area of Riverside, California, by unknown assailants; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the death of Charles "Chuckie" Martinez resulted from the willful <br />misconduct of one or more persons; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Riverside Police Department is currently investigating this <br />incident but has not yet identified and apprehended the persons responsible for these heinous acts; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on October 23, 2001, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 20026 <br />offering a reward in the amount of $25,000 for information leading to the determination of the <br />identity of, and the apprehension of, those persons responsible for the murder of Charles "Chuckie" <br />Martinez on June 7, 1999; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there are no new leads in the criminal investigation by the City of Riverside <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 826.-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
