CITY OF JVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL COUNCILMEMBERS Minutes of: Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Date of Meeting: Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council 12 p.m. Mayor's Ceremonial Room December 11, 2001 WARDS Roll Call: Mayor Loveridge called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m. LUNCHEON - CITY MANAGER RECRUITMENT PROCESS The Mayor and City Council met with John Shannon regarding the City Manager recruitment process. CLOSED SESSION The Mayor and City Council recessed for a closed session pursuant to Government Code §54957 for consideration of candidates for appointment to the position of City Manager. RECESS The City Council recessed at 1:10 p.m. and reconvened at 1:30 p.m. CONTINUATION OF CLOSED SESSIONS The Mayor and City Council recessed for closed sessions pursuant to Government Code §54956.9 (1) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning American Legion v. City of Riverside; and (2)to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning one case of anticipated litigation. RECESS The City Council recessed at 1:55 p.m. and reconvened at 2 p.m. in the Art Pick Council Chamber. City Clerk Colleen Nicol announced that with respect to Agenda Item No. 4, the City Council in closed session has given direction to the Interim City Attorney to initiate an action in the Riverside County Superior Court. The defendants and the other particulars shall, once formally commenced, be disclosed to any person upon inquiry, unless to do so would jeopardize the City's ability to effectuate service of process on one or more unserved parties or that to do so would jeopardize the City's ability to conclude existing settlement negotiations to its advantage.
