[IVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes of: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br />Date of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />9a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br />August 28, 2001 <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Adkison. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge calted on Community Police Review Commission Executive <br />Director Don Williams for a presentation to Mrs. Martha Redsecker. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Fire Captain <br />Robert Bock, Public Safety Officer for the month of July 2001, who was <br />honored by the Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning <br />Riverside. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge and Fire Chief Dave Carlson presented Proclamations and <br />Certificates of Appreciation to Jim Crowell, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and <br />Firearms, and Tab Harrison, Ralph's Grocery, commending them for their <br />support during the investigation of the National Orange Packing Company <br />fire. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar <br />were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each item; <br />with Councilmember Defenbaugh requesting her vote be shown as "No" on <br />the item regarding Zoning Case CU-004-012, Councilmember Adkison <br />requesting his vote be shown as "No" on the item regarding the one-year <br />extension of the agreement with Guardsmark, Inc., and the item establishing <br />a no parking zone on the easterly side of La Sierra Avenue being referred to <br />the City Manager's Office. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of August 14, 2001, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD <br /> <br />CASE HD-004-001 - 7355 MAGNOLIA - RESOLUTION <br />The City Council upheld the action of the Cultural Heritage Board in <br />approving the request of Colonel and Mrs. George A. Gilliland (U.S.M.C., <br />Retired) to designate the Holden House, a 1923 Tudor Revival style single- <br />family residence located at 7355 Magnolia Avenue situated on the north- <br />westerly side of Magnolia Avenue between Westwood Drive and Madison <br />Street, as a City of Riverside Historic Landmark, APN 227-270-039, <br />whereupon, Resolution No. 19985 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, <br />California, Approving Application Number HD-004-001 and Designating the <br /> 87-52 <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br /> <br />
