CITY O13, IVERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER~ <br /> <br />Minutes off <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br />Date of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />2 p.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br />June 26, 2001 <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />CLOSED SESSION <br />The Mayor and City Council recessed to the City Council Board Room for a closed <br />session pursuant to Government Code §54957.1 for performance evaluations of City <br />Manager, City Clerk, and City Attorney. <br /> <br />The Mayor and all Councilmembers except Councilmember Defenbaugh returned to <br />the Art Pick Council Chamber. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />CONVALESCENT TRANSPORT PERMIT - PREMIER MEDICAL TRANS- <br />PORTATION - RESOLUTION <br />3 P.M.--Hearing was called to consider the renewal application of Premier Medical <br />Transportation, Inc., for a Convalescent Transport Vehicle Permit to provide non- <br />emergency medical transportation services (gumey vans) in the City of Riverside. No <br />protests, written or oral, were presented. The public hearing was officially closed. <br />The City Council (1) made the findings pursuant to Chapter 5.65 of the Riverside <br />Municipal Code that the public health, safety, welfare, convenience, and necessity <br />permit the granting of a Convalescent Transport Permit; and that the applicant, <br />Premier Medical Transportation, Inc., meets these requirements; and (2) directed the <br />City Clerk to issue a Convalescent Transport Permit for a period of six months in <br />accordance with Chapter 5.65 and that the permit be in the form and substance <br />approved by the City Attorney and that as conditions of the permit the proposed fees <br />and charges as submitted in the application for the permit are approved and the <br />applicant, Premier Medical Transportation, Inc., agrees that its vehicles used in the <br />City of Riverside for convalescent transport purposes (gurney van service) shall not <br />display the terms "medical transportation" either in its name or to describe its service <br />in order to comply with the provisions of Chapter 5.65, and the applicant agrees to <br />abide by Conditions 1-5 as found in the City Council Public Safety Committee report <br />dated May 10, 2001; whereupon, Resolution No. 19945 of the City Council of the City <br />of Riverside, California, Finding That the Public Interest, Convenience and Necessity <br />Permit the Issuance of a Vehicle for Hire Permit and Directing the City Clerk to Issue <br />a Permit Pursuant to Section 5.40.060 of the Riverside Municipal Code, was presented <br />and adopted. <br /> <br />Councilmember Defenbaugh entered the Art Pick Council Chamber at this time. <br /> <br />LA SIERRA UNIVERSITY AREA RIVERWALK ASSESSMENT DISTRICT - <br />RESOLUTION <br />3 P.M.--Hearing was called to consider information and comments and objections for <br />the proposed Riverwalk Assessment District relative to the proposed improvements <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />86-405 <br /> <br /> <br />
