CITY O13, IVERSIDE CITY COUNCIL COUNCILMEMBER~ Minutes off Time of Meeting: Place of Meeting: Date of Meeting: Regular Meeting of the City Council 2 p.m. Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall June 26, 2001 WARDS Roll Call: CLOSED SESSION The Mayor and City Council recessed to the City Council Board Room for a closed session pursuant to Government Code §54957.1 for performance evaluations of City Manager, City Clerk, and City Attorney. The Mayor and all Councilmembers except Councilmember Defenbaugh returned to the Art Pick Council Chamber. PUBLIC HEARINGS CONVALESCENT TRANSPORT PERMIT - PREMIER MEDICAL TRANS- PORTATION - RESOLUTION 3 P.M.--Hearing was called to consider the renewal application of Premier Medical Transportation, Inc., for a Convalescent Transport Vehicle Permit to provide non- emergency medical transportation services (gumey vans) in the City of Riverside. No protests, written or oral, were presented. The public hearing was officially closed. The City Council (1) made the findings pursuant to Chapter 5.65 of the Riverside Municipal Code that the public health, safety, welfare, convenience, and necessity permit the granting of a Convalescent Transport Permit; and that the applicant, Premier Medical Transportation, Inc., meets these requirements; and (2) directed the City Clerk to issue a Convalescent Transport Permit for a period of six months in accordance with Chapter 5.65 and that the permit be in the form and substance approved by the City Attorney and that as conditions of the permit the proposed fees and charges as submitted in the application for the permit are approved and the applicant, Premier Medical Transportation, Inc., agrees that its vehicles used in the City of Riverside for convalescent transport purposes (gurney van service) shall not display the terms "medical transportation" either in its name or to describe its service in order to comply with the provisions of Chapter 5.65, and the applicant agrees to abide by Conditions 1-5 as found in the City Council Public Safety Committee report dated May 10, 2001; whereupon, Resolution No. 19945 of the City Council of the City of Riverside, California, Finding That the Public Interest, Convenience and Necessity Permit the Issuance of a Vehicle for Hire Permit and Directing the City Clerk to Issue a Permit Pursuant to Section 5.40.060 of the Riverside Municipal Code, was presented and adopted. Councilmember Defenbaugh entered the Art Pick Council Chamber at this time.
