CITY AVERSIDE <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes off <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br />Date of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />9 a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br />June 19, 2001 <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Thompson. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Police Sergeant Don <br />Taulli, Public Safety Officer for the month of June 2001, who was honored by the <br />Greater Riverside Chambers of Commerce at Good Morning Riverside. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Josephina Canchola, Community Services Manager with <br />Riverside Unified School District, who assisted in recognizing the Prime Time After <br />School Program Business Partners. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge and Riverside Unified School District Superintendent Susan Rainey <br />recognized the California state winners of the National History Day Contest: <br />Shashwati Kasetty from King High School won in the Individual Website Design <br />division and Alex Carstens, Geoff Hallmark, and Brian Kim from Poly High School <br />won in the Group Website Design division. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge left the meeting at this time. Mayor ProTempore Beaty assumed the <br />Chair and presided. <br /> <br />STAFF INTRODUCTION <br />Mayor ProTempore Beaty called on City Attorney Stan Yamamoto for introduction of <br />two new Deputy City Attorneys, Kellie Terhufen and Edward Kim. <br /> <br />RECESS <br />The City Council recessed at 10:20 a.m. to convene as the Industrial Development <br />Authority. The City Council reconvened at 10:30 a.m. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />item. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meeting of June 12, 2001, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5791 - SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION - PHOENIX BETWEEN CENTRAL <br />AND DEWEY <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5791 to Premier Contractors in the amount of <br /> <br /> 86-396 <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br /> <br />
