CITY OF ,'ERSIDE <br />CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />COUNC.~MEMBERS <br /> <br />Minutes off <br />Date of Meeting: <br />Time of Meeting: <br />Place of Meeting: <br /> <br />Regular Meeting of the City Council <br />April 3, 2001 <br />9 a.m. <br />Art Pick Council Chamber, City Hall <br /> <br />WARDS <br /> <br />Roll Call: <br /> <br />The Invocation was given by City Manager John Holmes. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge announced that Councilmember Thompson ~vas absent due to <br />illness. <br /> <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given to the Flag. <br /> <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Loveridge called on Arlington High School Principal Nick Boden and <br />Arlington High School's Performing Arts Chairperson Timothy Lutz who presented <br />Certificates of Appreciation to two students, Amy Solesbee and Aaron White, in <br />recognition of their appointment to the American Choral Director's Association's <br />National Multicultural Honor Choir. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge presented a Proclamation to Parliamentarian Charles H. Johnson <br />and Joseph Hester, President of Riverside Society of Parliamentarians, Chapter 52 of <br />the American Institute of Parliamentarians, proclaiming the month of April 2001 as <br />Parliamentary Month. The Society presented books on parliamentary procedure for <br />the Riverside City Library. <br /> <br />Mayor Loveridge, assisted by Police Chief Russ Leach, presented a Proclamation to <br />Riverside Police Department K-9 Officer Bony on the occasion of his retirement. <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />The following items, presented to the City Council on the Consent Calendar for <br />consideration, were approved by one motion affirming the actions appropriate to each <br />~tem. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />The Minutes of the Meetings of March 27, 2001, were approved as presented. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />BID 5828 MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM TERMITE ERADICATION <br />3485 MISSION iNN <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5828 to Terminix International in the amount of <br />$37,820 for termite eradication at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium at <br />3485 Mission Inn Avenue; and (2) authorized the preparation of the appropriate <br />contract documents for execution by the City Manager or his designee. <br /> <br />BID 5823 - WIDEN PRIMROSE BETWEEN HARRISON AND ROOSEVELT <br />The City Council (1) awarded Bid 5823 to Laird Construction Company, Inc., in the <br />amount of $169,500 for the widening of Primrose Drive from Harrison Street to <br />Roosevelt Street (Accounts 61300004.70637, 9541727-440223, 9213700-440120); <br /> <br />Present <br /> <br />Motion <br />Second <br />All Ayes <br /> <br />86-300 <br /> <br /> <br />
